These school resources have all been shaped significantly by the findings of the reasearch carried out for East Meets West. Broadly speaking, they aim to encourage pupils to think about everyday life under state socialism and the ways in which Eastern Europeans are represented in the British media. The resources can be adapted fo pupils from year 9 to A-level. They will be of particular interest to teachers of history, citizenship, German, and Eastern European Languages.
In addition to these, Richard Kennett, a history teacher from Redland Green School in Bristol, has very kindly provided these resources to share on our website:
We’d really like to hear your feedback on any of the resources that you use, so please write a comment on the page or send us an email (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you use these in your lessons.
